The Center on Pacific Economies at IR/PS presents a lecture by Dr. Chung-In Moon, Pacific Leadership Fellow and Visiting Scholar.

What: "The Political Economy of Division and Unification in Korea"
A public lecture by Dr. Chung-In Moon

Where: UC San Diego Faculty Club, Atkinson Pavilion

As a leading analyst of the Korean peninsula, Chung-In Moon can offer great insight into South Korea's political economy and its importance to North Korea. In this public lecture, Dr. Moon will share his perspective on inter-Korean relations, drawing on his experiences as both a scholar and a political adviser to the Korean government. Bio: Chung-In Moon has served in important advisory and policy positions in both the Kim Dae Jung and Roh Moo Hyun governments. He attended the first North-South summit with Kim Dae Jung in 2000 as a special delegate, served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Northeast Asian Cooperation Initiative under the Roh Moo Hyun administration, and attended the second North-South summit in October 2007. Dr. Moon is currently at work on a manuscript about the political economy of South Korea, and his work is funded in part by a grant from the Academy of Korean Scholars, distributed through the Korea-Pacific Program at UCSD's School of International Relations and Pacific Studies.
